Meet the Massage Therapist

Helen Chavez

I am a national certified massage therapist with over 20 years of experience. I have extensive training in several massage techniques most frequently using traditional Swedish, deep tissue, energy work and stretching, as well as certified in pre-natal massage. I have worked with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapist and chiropractors assisting in prevention, strengthening, and rehab issues, this includes pre/post-sports event work, deep-tissue release, neuromuscular therapy (nmt), and active/resisted stretching, frequently resolving cervical entrapment, shoulder impingement, rotator cuff injuries, low back strain/sprain, hip and pelvis dysfunction/rotation, chronic and tight hip flexor, and groin-hamstring pulls etc…just to mention a few. I also frequently work with chronic stress related diseases and auto immune disorder, cancer, high blood pressure, postural issues, and lymph edema. always focusing on increasing range of motion, diminishing pain, flushing soft tissue, and loosening up tight muscles. Treatments are therapeutic in nature but always provided in a spa like atmosphere, frequently using aroma therapy with oil or lotion.

On a personal note, I love sports and physical competition. My passion is being outside on a road or mountain bike …riding (not competitively). I enjoy cooking and gardening and creating with my hands. I encourage self-care and to practice one’s faith and to breathe – regularly, thus assisting the relaxed mind to heal the body. I look forward to meeting you!

Reviews By Our Satisfied Patients

  • "I've been coming to Dr. Carri for many years, due to chronic neck problems and without her treatments and advice my life would be a (pain in the neck) pun intended. Thank you for your care."
